It’s been good to see you out in force around the community lately.
Now that everybody is a 55 there really is nothing more to be gained from the ranked servers so =SS= Tactical has gone unranked as of last night.
I think you would like some of the changes we have made as a result of being unranked so I’m going to list a few:
AWE 4 – We are currently running AWE 4 but we may alternate between it and mods like extreme and others. We have a fast redirect site so the mod download is really quick.
Hardcore Mode – The server is still running in Hardcore Mode therefore the main hardcore elements are still in place.
Custom Maps – there are a few out already and we will be running some of them.
UAV Changes – We have made the UAV stay on permanently with your friendly green team icons and the little compass direction at the top. PLUS we have removed the red dots so no more enemy locations are given on the UAV.
Hit Indicators – These have been removed. Now you cannot look at your enemy’s red dot and shoot through the wall until you get a hit indication.
Enemy Name Tags – These have also been removed, however, friendly name tags are still in place.
Air Strikes – The Air Strike is available at75 kills.
Helicopter – Currently the Heli is not available however depending on feedback we may decide to make it available and tweak some of the Heli settings. We can make it have less ammo, be less accurate and easier to shoot down and several other options.
Icons – The red Kill icon, the green Defend icon and yellow Bomb icons have all been removed. This change makes sabotage a much slower, more tactical game-type because you cannot see where the enemy is with the bomb. That means more sneaking and less running for the carrier and will require more defending the bomb site by the defense.
Weapons & Limits – All the games weapons are available and snipers have been limited to 2. The extras like red dots and silencers are still available for use with some exceptions. You can’t put a red dot on a smg like an uzi for example but you can put it on an assault rifle.
Perks – All the BS perks have been removed. That means most of the level 2 perks and NONE of the level 3 perks are available. Most of the level 1 perks are still available.
We are allowing normal running because real soldiers run. However like some other clans (5307th for example) we will be asking people to limit sprinting. However we will never implement a "must crouch" rule like a few other clans are doing.
I’m probably leaving out a few more things and I’m sure a little more tweaking will take place.
We would love for you to come on the server and give it a test and feedback.
The devs have done a good job making CoD4 very mod friendly. There are some differences in how mods work when compared to CoD1, UO or CoD2. If and when you decide to run a modded server we’ll be glad to assist as will anybody over at www.tacticalresourcecenter.com.
